The Franklin County Art Alliance Annual Exhibition

The Franklin County Art Alliance announces its 42nd Annual Exhibition, beginning on Sunday, June 16 with a tea and opening reception from 2-5 PM, and continuing June 17-20, from 2-7 PM Monday through Thursday. 345 paintings, photographs, prints and sculptures by area artists will be displayed at CalvaryUnitedMethodistChurch, 150 Norlo Drive in Fayetteville.

The Exhibition’s award ceremony, with over $1000 worth of awards to be presented, will be held at 3 pm on Sunday the 16th. The largest art exhibition to be held annually in FranklinCounty, the Art Alliance show will feature watercolors, oils, pastels, prints, drawings, photographs and sculpture. “We have 345 entries this year,” said Exhibit Chair Anne Finucane, “and have received more student entries than in other years: always a recipe for an exciting show!”

Door prizes will be awarded throughout the show, consisting of works of art by Alliance members, including last year’s Best of Show winner, Waynesboro artist Donna Bingaman.

Judges for the 2013 exhibit are Jonathan Frazier and Paul Gallo. Jonathan Frazier studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art in BaltimoreMD, followed by studies at KutztownUniversity, where he acquired his BFA in studio art. His work has been selected for inclusion in many juried shows, including the Art of the State at the PennsylvaniaStateMuseum, the Washington County Museum of Fine Art in HagerstownMD, the DelaplaineCenter in Frederick MD, the Cape Cod Museum of Fine Art in MA, the Philadelphia Sketch Club, the WhitakerCenter and the Lancaster Museum of Art. He is represented by numerous commercial galleries in Harrisburg, Gettysburg, and Lancaster and by Converge Gallery in Williamsport. More information is available at www.jonathanfrazier.com

Paul J. Gallo is currently a teacher at the Art institute of York. Gallo studied at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and earned an Associates Degree from HarrisburgAreaCommunity College and his Masters in Fine Arts from SyracuseUniversity. His work has been included in juried exhibitions including the Harrisburg Art Association International Juried Show and the Lebanon Valley College Juried Exhibit; recent group exhibitions include the Doshi 44 Exhibit at Pennsylvania State Museum; Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters Exhibit; a Cape Cod Museum exhibit; and with his fellow members of Seven Lively Artists, “Recent Works at Gallery 2318” and a display at the Pennsylvania Governor’s Mansion in 2010.
