Doubt was written by John Patrick Shanley and won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2005 Tony Award for Best Play.  NY Newsday describes it as: “Blunt yet subtle, manipulative but full of empathy for all sides, the play is set in 1964 but could not be more timely. In just ninety fast-moving minutes, Shanley creates four blazingly individual people. Doubt is a lean, potent drama…passionate, exquisite, important and engrossing.” It was turned into a feature film released in 2008 starring Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, and Viola Davis. Shanley is also known for writing original screenplays for Joe Versus the Volcano and Moonstruck, for which he won the Academy Award
