Hoffman Trust helps Arts Council STAR Grant

The Adams County Arts Council has received $9,000 from the Robert C. Hoffman Charitable Endowment Trust to provide arts funding for local schools through the Arts Council’s STAR (Serving the Arts Regionally) Grant.  According to Arts Council Executive Director Chris Glatfelter, “We’re pleased that the Hoffman Trust will supplement the funds we traditionally distribute through this grant.  Hoffman funding will be used exclusively for arts programs in county schools which should bring welcome relief to teachers and students who have seen their arts budgets plummet in recent years.”

Applications for the Arts Council’s 16th year of STAR Grants are available by visiting adamsarts.org, at the Arts Education Center, 125 South Washington St., Gettysburg, or by contacting (717) 334-5006 or aie@adamsarts.org.  Completed applications are due Friday, November 1 with awards announced February 1, 2014.  The grant will help support 2014 arts programs which take place in Adams County.

In the past fifteen years, the STAR Grant has awarded $181,000 and served more than 223,000 people with a wealth of arts programs.  The grant is supported by the Adams County Commissioners and Borough of Gettysburg. The Arts Council’s mission is to cultivate an arts-rich community. For more information, contact Judy Marti at aie@adamsarts.org
