The Hershey Symphony Orchestra invites the community to celebrate the Fourth of July with the 7th annual free concert and fireworks on the lawn of Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
The orchestra’s performance entitled, “An American Salute” begins at 7:30 p.m., and fireworks will follow at 10 p.m. Complimentary water and ice cream will be provided by Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Food and drink for purchase will be offered by Keystone Smokehouse BBQ.
“We are excited to once again partner with the Medical Center to present this wonderful community event celebrating the birth of our great nation,” said Hershey Symphony Orchestra Pops Conductor Bob Sproul.
The first half of the concert will feature “A Year in the Life of the Hershey Symphony,” with a mixed selection of music including classical, pops, Broadway, Star Wars and a preview of the Symphony’s season opening “Simply Sinatra” concert.
For the second half of the concert, the Orchestra will present “A Salute to America,” accompanied by Hershey Symphony Orchestra vocalists. These selections will celebrate America and provide a special tribute to the military.
The concert is sponsored by Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey Lodge, Sutliff Chevrolet and Hershey Symphony Orchestra. Parking is free and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. A freewill offering will be taken to benefit the Orchestra. The rain date for the celebration is July 5.
