Gamut Theatre to Host Improv Comedy Show to Benefit Local Actress A Night of Improv

Gamut Theatre announced today  it will host A Night of Improv – Benefit for Linde Stern featuring their resident troupe, T.M.I., as well as other local improv troupe, No Artificial Sweeteners, on Wednesday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m.

Admission to this show is “pay what you will.” All proceeds of this benefit performance will go toward defraying the costs of cancer treatment for local actress, Linde Stern.

“Linde is part of our family in the arts community,” says Gamut Executive Director, Melissa Nicholson. ”She has given us so much in the form of her talent, enthusiasm and friendship that when we learned of her health challenges, we knew we had to help.” In addition to her work on stage, Stern works in classrooms with disabled students at Harrisburg area schools

Stern is a fixture in Central PA theatre, having appeared in numerous Gamut productions including RICHARD III, BAREFOOT IN ATHENS, and the 2011 Free Shakespeare in the Park production of ALL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL. She has also been very active at Theatre of the Seventh Sister, Hershey Area Playhouse, Gretna Playhouse, and other theatres in the area.

Stern will require surgery to remove a cancerous mass found in her brain earlier this month, and treatment to ensure that all potential residual cancer is eliminated.

Anyone who is unable to attend the April 24th performance, but would like to donate toward this effort, may go www.giveforward.com/helpourmotherfightcancer , a fundraising site created by the family.
