Linda Young, Watercolor Artist

Linda Young is a watercolor artist and native of Carlisle, Pa.  Having had no formal education, Linda has progressed from being a part time artist to one very dedicated to having it become her full time career.  Linda’s interest in art began in 2004.   Seeing a watercolor class titled “Free Spirit Watercolor” Linda signed up with the intent to “free her own spirit”…and it did just that!

Through workshops and self-study, Linda has become a successful, award-winning artist. She paints in impressionistic, abstract and realism styles.  A recent impressionistic/abstract watercolor painting titled “Percussion” has been accepted into the Keystone National Juried Exhibition in Mechanicsburg.  Last year, her painting titled “Life Passing By” was also accepted into that exhibition. In addition, this year, she has been accepted in the First Annual United Way of Pennsylvania Fine Arts Photography Exhibit:  Collage of a Commonwealth for her artistic interpretation of a photograph they provided in which she created a watercolor painting titled “Angels Among Us”.

Linda has also been accepted as an emerging artist into the 36th Annual Mt. Gretna Outdoor Art Show August 21, 22, 2010.  Her work can be seen at booth E#3.
