Council Offers Late Spring Schedule of Adult and Teen Classes

Multi-week classes

Starting Thursday, May 2, 6-9 pm Learn to Paint Like Wyeth: students will do a painting inspired by Andrew Wyeth’s “Master Bedroom”, learning to mix colors and apply paint, capturing such textures as fabric, wood, and a dog’s fur, with instructor Kent Roberts

Starting Saturday, May 4, 8:30 – 10:30 am Digital Photography: beginners and people with some experience will learn the bells and whistles of digital photography, with instructor Kristen Pixler

Starting Thursday, May 9, 12:30-3:30 pm  Traditional Book binding and mini-book necklace: create a traditionally bound hard cover journal-style sketch book, plus a traditional style mini-book necklace, with instructor Kate Reynolds

Starting Monday, May 20, 1pm – 4 pm Open Media Painting Class: beginners to advanced students may work in oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel, with instructor Mark Brockman

Starting Wednesday, May 22, 6:30 – 8:30pm  Digital Photography Darkroom: students will learn to properly process, edit and manipulate digital photographs, and learn key concepts of image processing and photo manipulation, using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, with instructor Kristen Pixler

Starting Tuesday, May 28, 6:30 – 8:30 pm Painting Animals: students will use acrylic or oil and learn to paint fur, feathers and much more, with instructor Nicole Troup

Starting Monday, June 3, 6:30 – 9:30 pm Fiesta Tote: a basket in two sizes, with narrow bands of natural reed separating wider bands of brightly dyed seagrass.  All skill levels welcome, with instructor Susan Matson

Starting Tuesday, June 4, 9:30 – 12 noon Colored Pencil Dark-to-Light Technique for Dramatic Lighting: use colored pencil to create rich color and dramatic lighting, with instructor Amy Lindenberger

Starting Thursday, June 6, 6-9 pm 4 Weeks – 4 Books: create a new book each week: an accordion pocket-fold book, a Japanese stab-bound book, a pop-up book, and a mini-accordion photo book, with instructor Kate Reynolds

Starting Wednesday, June 19, 1-4 pm Paint Around the World In Watercolor: explore the different characteristics of landscapes from every continent except Antarctica! All new subjects, with instructor Kent Roberts

Starting Monday, June 24, 6-8:30 pm Painting on Glass: with no experience in drawing or painting necessary, students will learn the basic ways to use glass enamels to create their own custom designs, with instructor Gail Cox

Thursdays, 9:30 -11:30:  “Pastels! Look Out, You’re Gonna Love Them!” with Laurie McKelvie
