Council Offers Early Spring Schedule of Adult and Teen Classes

Multi-week classes

Starting Saturday, March 30, 8:30 – 10:30 am   Digital Photography: beginners and people with some experience will learn the bells and whistles of digital photography, with instructor Kristen Pixler

Starting Thursday, April 4, 6-8:30 pm   “Pastels – Look Out: You’ll Love Them!“: beginning & intermediate students will explore pastel techniques that emphasize the use of color & texture, with instructor Laurie McKelvie

Starting Tuesday, April 9, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm   Painting Flowers: Create expressive flowers in acrylic, oil or pastel with instructor Marti Yeager

Starting Friday, April 12, 10am – 1 pm   Open Media Painting Class: beginners to advanced students may work in oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel, with demos and lots of personal instruction, from instructor Mark Brockman

Starting Monday, April 15, 1:30-4pm   Beginning and Intermediate Colored Pencil: a versatile, non-toxic, fine art medium offering minimal expense, mess, and set-up time – for new and experienced students, with instructor Amy Lindenberger

Starting  Monday, April 15, 6-8:30 pm   Using Colored Pencils on Black Surfaces: key techniques for using colored pencil on black and very dark-colored surfaces, to keep colors true and luminous, with instructor Amy Lindenberger

Starting Monday, April 22, 6:30 – 9:30pm   Arrowheads: a dramatic vessel-shaped basket made with round reed and a simple rolled border, with instructor Susan Matson

Starting Tuesday, April 23, 6-9 pm   Portrait Painting: beginners and intermediate students will work from a live model, and learn to paint a face in correct proportion and perspective, with instructor Ski Holm

Starting Wednesday, April 24, 12 noon – 3pm   Painting the Seasons in Watercolor: paint along with Kentfor 4 weeks, and create an original work for the final two weeks, with instructor Kent Roberts

One-time classes

Saturday, April 6, 1-4 pm   Create a Spring Flower with Powdered Graphite: depict a spring flower using this delicate technique, using a provided pattern, or creating your own, with instructor Barbara Petrucci

Saturday, April 6, 9 am – 1 pm   Open Weave: Help, encouragement, instruction and coaching with basket-making instructor Susan Matson
