ChambersFest to Feature Dance Performance

The Chambersburg Ballet Theatre (CBT) School will present its annual ChambersFest “Old Market Day” performance onstage at the Capitol Theatre on Saturday, June 16th, at 1:30 p.m. The program is entitled “Celebrate With Dance!” to reflect the joyful and eclectic tone of the dance repertoire to be presented.

Several CBT Guest Faculty members will present choreography. Kristin D’Addario, (Georgia Ballet) will present an original contemporary dance, Peter Doll (Georgia Ballet) and Ruth Mugg (Official Ballet Instructor for the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland) will present variations from the great classical ballet, “La Bayadere”. Mrs. Mugg will also present a character dance. The twenty dancers from the CBTSchool will be joined by guest dancers from the Mar-Le-Nie Dance Studio in several traditional and street jazz dances from famous Broadway shows, coached by Mar-Le-Nie’s Director, Charlotte Hafer, continuing a tradition of collaboration and friendship between the two dance institutions that has lasted over a decade.

CBT’s “Celebrate With Dance!” performance is sponsored by Chambersburg’s Council for the Arts and the Patriot Federal Credit Union, and is free and open to the public. Those who wish to may give a free will offering at the concession table to help cover production costs.
